Facing the Future: The Building Initiative for Nativity Catholic School |
| The Strongest of Beginnings ~ Since 1923, Nativity of Our Lord School has provided the strongest of beginnings for generations of students— beginnings that are the cornerstone of greater achievement in high school, college, and life. It's where thousands of children have cultivated a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ, Catholic values and traditions, and the gift of faith. It's where they've learned to think critically, solve problems, enhance social skills, develop a sense of integrity, and recognize and foster their talents.
To a large degree, this outstanding education can be attributed to a deep and abiding partnership between students, parents, teachers, and staff. But another factor has also played a significant role: the school building itself. The original facility was built in 1923 with 20 classrooms. In 1960, to meet the needs of an increased enrollment, we added 12 classrooms, a library, a gymnasium, and administrative spaces.
Until this project, very few structural or mechanical updates had been made to these original structures. A recent School Facility Analysis conducted by a local architectural firm demonstrated that the condition of the school building was seriously hindering efforts to provide the quality education our children deserve and our families have come to expect.
Investing in the Wisest of Ways ~ In 2006, Nativity of Our Lord launched a capital campaign, Our Legacy: From Greatness to Glory, to raise the $15 million necessary to renovate and expand Nativity School. The primary objective of this campaign is to supply the physical setting necessary to provide current and comprehensive faith-filled catholic education to students for generations to come. Our building initiative significantly updates our science labs, media/technology and fine arts facilities and provides space for all-day kindergarten. Our Legacy is truly a milestone in the history of our parish. Please help us ensure that our students face their futures armed with an outstanding education and the strongest of Catholic values.
