Adult Faith Formation

Growing in our Catholic Faith is a lifelong Process. Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation signals the beginning an adult faith and a willingness to accept the challenges to our faith that accompany The increased personal responsibilities, personal maturity issues and cultural upheavals that we experience in our adult years. it is vitally important that we as adults continue to grow in our understanding and practice of our Catholic Faith.

Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church is committed to increasing the number of opportunities that adult parishioners have to deepen their personal spirituality and deepen their Catholic faith. This year's offerings include:

Adult Education and Faith Formation

Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA )

Through the Rite of Christian Initiation, non-Catholics interested in joining the Catholic Church receive a structured opportunity to immerse themselves in the Catholic faith, reflect on their commitment to Catholic values, traditions and practices and prepare to become full members of our faith. This intense journey includes eight months of prayer and reflection, independent study and time spent learning from a parish mentor. The program culminates when the participant is welcomed into the Catholic faith through the reception of the Sacraments during the Easter Vigil liturgy.

Adult Education Series

Nativity annually presents an adult education series devoted to enriching our understanding of the Catholic faith and its application in our lives. Generally offered during the school year, speakers address specific topics related to our Catholic faith.

Lenten Soup and Stations

 

 

Nativity parishioners gather every Friday during Lent for a simple supper of soup and bread followed by a presentation by a parishioner related to the depiction of Catholic culture through the Arts. The group then convenes in the main church for weekly Stations.

Meet your fellow parishioners in Steiner Hall following the 5:00 p.m. Mass.

Friday evenings in Lent

No advance registration required.

Lenten Parish Mission

The parish's annual three-day mission offers parishioners an opportunity to reflect, grow spiritually, strengthen their understanding of Catholic traditions and teachings and reaffirm their commitment to the Catholic faith. The parish mission generally coincides with the parish's Lenten journey.

Natvity Young Adults
NYA

NYA is an outreach to all young adults in their 20's and 30's  at Nativity, seeking to deepen their Catholic faith through prayer, service, knowledge, sacraments and fellowship.

Advance registration may be required depending on the activity.

Parents Morning Out

"Parents Morning Out" provides a social and educational experience for -mothers and others - in the Nativity community. One Thursday morning a month from October through May, Nativity Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) hosts an event addressing topics related to Christian family life and personal spiritual growth. Child Care is provided. Contact the Lannan Center or check the weekly bulletin for more information.
