New Parishioner Information Thank you for considering Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church as your faith community. I'm honored to be the first to welcome you. I'm confident that you will find ample opportunities for spiritual growth, social development and service to others here at Nativity. Nativity has been an integral part of the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood for more than 80 years. During that time, tens of thousands of people have been baptized, received the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation and exchanged their marriage vows in our beautiful church. Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School has educated thousands of local children. As a community, we are committed to living and acting according to the Catholic faith's principles of justice and respect. Our parishioners are extremely active and generous with their time and talents. Thanks to their efforts, we are able to work together to fulfill Jesus' directive to make present the Kingdom of God and care for each other and His creation with love and compassion. This is the secret behind our parish's vitality and strong sense of community. Every year, thousands of parishioners take an active role in parish leadership, enhance our liturgies as musicians, lectors and Eucharistic ministers and organize all of the parish's social and service opportunities for the parish. Volunteers are the driving force in our efforts to raise the funds needed to accomplish our parish mission. I strongly encourage you, as a new parishioner, to get involved in an area of parish life that interests you. You'll find your efforts are welcomed warmly.
