Outreach Ministries

Nativity Parishioners participate in a wide variety of outreach activities. Following is a partial list of some of the organizations through which Nativity parishioners help the broader community. There are volunteer opportunities in the areas of: Foodshelves, Active Senior Programs, Meals on Wheels, IDT (Intervention for at risk younth), Seasonal Opportunities and Office Volunteers. Contact the Lannan Parish Center for more information or to get involved.

Loaves and Fishes Parishioners cook and serve meals to low-income and homeless families at Faith Lutheran Church, 499 Charles Avenue, St. Paul and at the Dorothy Day Center in downtown St. Paul. In addition to serving a good meal, volunteers provide hospitality and conversation to those who are homeless and/or jobless. This is a family-oriented (children ages 10 and older at Faith Lutheran Church and ages 12 and older at Dorothy Day Center) volunteer opporunity and an excellent way for Nativity 7th grade students to earn Confirmation service hours. If interested in helping at Faith Lutheran Church, contact Nancy Schneider at schneidertax@msn.com. If interested in helping at Dorothy Day Center, contact Peter Butler at (651) 698-9547.
