This year’s
fabulous lineup includes returning favorites and also introduces bands
new to the Nativity County Fair audience. Each group you’ll see
on stage has a direct link to the Nativity community. (Please note:
Times may be subject to change.)
SATURDAY,
SEPT. 15
10 a.m. Flag ceremony Members of Nativity’s Boy
Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts open the Fair with a flag ceremony.
They will be followed by the national anthem contest winner singing
“The Star-Spangled Banner.”
10:15 to 10:45 Los Alegres Bailadores Nativity students
are part of Minnesota’s longest-established Mexican dance troupe.
11 to 11:30 St. Paul Irish Dancers Enjoy the fancy
footwork of the Irish dancers, many of whom are Nativity students.
11:45 to 12:45 Talent Show America’s got talent!
Nativity does, too!
1 to 2:30 Hottinger Blues Band Electric blues from
parishioners George Hottinger, Mike Cooper, Mike King and Bob Winsor.
2:45 to 4 Drive Time Bluegrass music group includes
parishioner Mark Regnier.
4:15 to 5:45 Running Down Renee (RDR) New this year! Fun,
upbeat acoustic rock.
6 to 10 2nd Generation Back for the seventh straight
year! Mike Loonan and gang cover classic ‘60s, ‘70s and
‘80s dance music.

10 to 10:30 Worship music
10:30 Outdoor Mass Mass to be held at Nova with celebrant
Bishop-elect Peter Christensen.
11:30 to 11:45 Raffle winners drawing & Silent
Auction Teacher Drawing winner announced.
11:45 to 12:15 Avenues Barbershop quintet featuring
parishioner Patrick Werner.
12:30 to 1:45 Steve Yeager Quartet Jazz classics from
quartet including parishioner Steve Yeager.
2 to 3:15 Show’d Up Band Old-time string music
featuring mandolinist Bob Douglas (did you see him in the movie “A
Prairie Home Companion?”) and parishioner Mark Neuzil.
3:30 to 5 UK-5 New this year! Featuring parishioner
Mike Rumpza.
Run
to the Fair, Saturday Sept. 15
New time, new location. This year’s run will take place at Nova.
Registration begins at 9:30 near the Info Booth at the entrance of the
Fair grounds at Nova. Race time is 10:30 a.m. Our very own Bishop Peter
Christensen will be the Grand Marshall - also look for a special appearance
by the Trix Bunny!
Registration forms
will be in the school paper packs and available on the website. You
can pre-register or register on race day on the Fair grounds. Parent
signatures are needed. Cost is just $5 per runner or $20 per family.
It’s just a mile – you can do it! Run will start at Montreal
& Davern, head south on Davern to Edgcumbe, east on Edgcumbe to
Snelling, back down Edgecume to Davern
and home.
Each participant will receive a newly designed backpack filled with
surprises. New this year - One backpack will include a “golden
ticket” with a $25 Target gift card and other fun surprises! All
runners receive a free drink after the race and will be entered into
a raffle for a new bike from Boehm’s, donated by Willwerscheid’s
and Boehm’s. Each adult running will be entered into a raffle
for Nativity sweatshirts and Solomon sportswear.
Sign up with your class. The classroom with the most runners will receive
a free Davanni’s pizza party!
New race categories this year include: K-5 winner, Middle school (Grades
6-8) winner, and High school winner. All winners receive a $10 Davanni’s
gift certificate.

Got Talent!
Meet the Next Nativity Sensation…
These kids and adults worked all summer on their performances and have
wonderful talents to share with family and friends. So, come to the
main stage area to hear some great voices, very talented musicians,
gymnasts, comedians - you name it, we’ve got it! The Talent Show
will be Saturday at 11:45 on the main stage.
Did you say Whiffle Ball?
New this year-Whiffle Ball! Put your team together and get ready for
the Sunday afternoon tournament. Compete against your classmates for
gift cards and other prizes.
Sports Alley – Not Your Average Triathlon
Are you an all around athlete? Let’s see your best fast pitch,
slam dunk and slapshot – you’ve got just 90 seconds! It’s
all down to who can do it the fastest, so go for a personal best score
or play head-to-head against an opponent. One-of-a-kind medals minted
just for the occasion. Sponsored by the Nativity Men’s Club.
Cherry Tree
Visit us outside this year, near the Youth Games. There will be lots
of great treasures donated by students and parishioners. Adult and child
prizes available…it’s not just for kids. Your best odds
of winning are at the Cherry Tree!
Twinkies are Health Food, Really
When was the last time you had a Twinkie? It’s that time of year
again to give into your craving. The Nativity version of the cakewalk
is always a popular event, especially with the Nativity students. Pick
a number and when it’s time to stop you might be the lucky winner
of a box of Twinkies, Ho Ho’s or other tasty items. Come early
when the selection is good. You’ll find us in the modular classrooms
just east of the school next to Bingo. Follow the trail we have marked
for you!
Please drop donations off at the parish center as usual.
Fancy Flips
You can make the BEST flip flops in town. We’ll have silky, shiny,
furry fabric, and glittery, chunky colorful do-dads to add to make your
very own sandals to wear around the Fair. We have new embellishments
this year - and all for only $5 a pair.

Come escape the crowds! Follow the path to Bingo, take a seat and re-lax.
We will be located in the modular classrooms east of the school next
to Twinkie Walk. Follow the trail we have marked for you!
Welcome
to Nativity Market Bake Sale & Baking Contest
The Nativity Market Bake Sale is THE place to stop
for hot coffee, cool drinks and homemade treats. Bake sale hours are
Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 11-1. Located in the Nova Classical school
cafeteria (lower level).
Baking Contest Inviting all kids and adults to enter
the Annual Baking Contest held on Saturday the 15th at 12 p.m. Prizes
will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place entries in both the Kid and
Adult categories. Contest entries should be clearly marked and dropped
off by noon on the 15th. The winners will be announced on stage at 1
pm.
Nativity Market Bake Sale All households are asked
to donate one or more homemade baked goods to the Bake Sale. Please
donate pies, cakes, cookies, bars, etc. by dropping them off in Steiner
Hall on Friday, September 14th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (we will deliver
your donation to Nova for you!), or Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to
noon at the Nova location. Larger donation items like pies, cakes and
fancy cookies are big sellers, so put your favorite recipes to use!

We have games for young and old. Check out all the new games –
Slime your friends at “Shrek Slime”, race minnows at “Fish
Frenzy” or try your luck at the new life-size Jenga game “The

The County Fair Midway is back. All your favorite rides from year’s
past – and don’t forget to visit the bungee jump and climbing

Hey, live a little. Everyone has to indulge at the Fair. And this year,
you have to try the delicious roasted corn! You’ll find us on
the east side of the fairgrounds, near the school with all the other
Nativity food booths.
Other Fantastic Fair Food includes:
